There are several fig trees near my community garden plot, and I’ve been eyeing the unripe green figs for many weeks now. In the latest email from the Freshfarm Market people, I found out that figs will be at the market this weekend. I can only assume this means that the figs on those trees will be ready to pick soon.
I am excited to pick some of the figs and find fun uses for them. In particular, I’d like to make some fig jam or fig chutney. Something to preserve the sweetness of summer. Anyone have other interesting uses for figs?
