Yesterday was the DC Food Blogger Spooktacular Bake Sale. Arugula Files has a great write-up with photos, and I’m sure organizer Adventures in Shaw will have a post-game wrap up as well. I dropped off my chocolate loaf cake slices and bought some goodies that other bloggers had made – an excellent way to start off a great Halloween.
ModernDomestic's whoopie pies and chocolate peanut butter cupcakes were a big hit. I got one of the cupcakes - so good!

The bake sale was held at the 14th and U Farmer's Market, so I did a little shopping while I was there. I picked out a nice kabocha squash.
I also got a bunch of these beautiful, big Brussels sprouts.
Candy corn traffic cone. This has gotta be intentional, right?
